Posting this in here as i know the a6/a7 share same engines,
HI all been away from this forum for a while as ive been driving other VAG group motors, a friend of mine owns a 2011 a7 3.0tdi (non quattro) and broke down last week. Car wouldnt start and when easy start is used it would only run until you let off pedal. Soon after oil started blowing out of exhaust (straight through pipe from turbo, cat/dpf were removed) Initially suspected turbo. Sourced and fitted new turbo which has not cured it.
My suspicians now are major engine failure ie piston or rings issue,
Any other things i can look at before just taking the plunge and replacing the engine?
