Hey guys

If the car stands still for a while (a few hours) the first time i engage the breaking pedal it is very hard and i dont get full power out of the breaks, if i get of the pedal and break again its fine.. I tried some rough breakdowns, first the car polled to the left (might be due to the weather snow/water) the second time i did it i pushed hard down on the pedal, and the car stopped, but the pedal suddenly travelled down to the floor (the car still stopped so the brakes continued to work).

Anybody has an idea what it can be, the problem came over night so i have no clues to whats wrong.

I have checked the brake fluid, and its full.

The car is a 2005 audi a3 quattro.

A hard pedal means lack of servo assistance; either a vacuum leak or a faulty vacuum pump.

figures, everything else is falling apart on that damn car!

When was ur last brake fluid change?
Only reason I ask is it's recommended to be changed every 2 years.
Although it doesn't seem it's the problem, the brake feel after getting it changed is immense :)
