Breaking an S4

I may have the opportunity to buy a fire damaged S4 (dash fire so ruined electrics). I want the skirts and bumper for mine but will strip the rest down. What sort of return can I sensibly expect.

This isn't a for sale thread just want ascertain if it's worth the mucking about.

 

If you do oranco could I get first dibs on the fog light surrounds please let me know please

depends on if it's a facelift or not, what seats if they're not damaged, and upgrades etc?

I made £2.5k profit on last one I broke and that was me keeping the engine and milltek system but that was a facelift and had recaros, coilovers and few other parts,

Front bumper is the quickest to sell but if your keeping it then that's £300 down and £100 for the skirts

If it's a facelift saloon I'd be interested in the rear bumper

If your getting it for a good price then advertise it on srs forum, most of the parts will sell quick and for decent money

 

It's a W plate Avant. Should have pics of the damage extents tomorrow. Only have 1 pretty mishap pic and it looked clean

 

I'd be interested in the carpet bud if it's in good condition and if it will fit my saloon that is

also out of interest.. what's the difference between a standard rear bumper and an S4 rear bumper?

Still waiting on pics but transpires it's a face-lift A4 with S4 bits. Bit of a bummer but hopefully still have some value in bits.

 

Got it tonight, S4 bumper is going on my own car and the wheels were kept by the old owner but most of everything else will be available. FK coilovers, Milltek exhaust system, vent gauge pod. Will be taking a proper look over it tomorrow and will add to the advert in classifieds

 

does it have a tailgate spoiler?
also what engine? is it a quattro?

 

Car is APU code so DBW and is a fwd

was hoping it was a quattro for the exhaust.

 

Sorry mate. To be honest if it'd been a Quattro I might well have transferred my motor into it and broken mine instead

I take it the Milltek FWD system will be different from the Quattro system?

Looks as if it's been a tidy car. whats the damage to it?

 

Totally different fit mate.

It's a really tidy car but the loom is fried behind the dials. Could sort it but it's just not worth the hassle

 

From memory I think it has a TTV smf and an S4 clutch. Milltek exhaust and matching cat. If it's got the Neuspeed rear arb and you're not using it can I make you an offer.

 

I'm needing a drivers side front wing if it's good? Would take the pair if they're in good nick

 

Yea I thought it might be. I know the standard system is completely different just wasnt sure about the milltek

Cool, the paint isn't important as it'll be painted anyway, as long as they're straight and no rusty

 

I'd be interested in carpet if it will fit my saloon

 

Broonie, took a look at the wings and they've been rolled cracking the paint with a couple of spots of rust. They're not mining but not of a standard I'd be happy to sell them on.

 

Paint code is LZ9W
