Brake warning light

My 04 allroad has developed an issue help needed.

After starting the first time you press the brake pedal the alarm and bulb symbol appears on the warning screen on the instrument panel. It stays on and won't clear.

The manual states brake issue, all brake lights are working fine along with the brakes and no abs warning lights.

Any help.

Scan would normally show a fault code. Brake switch is normally the cause. Genuine only replacement suggested if it is and cheapo ones have limited life.

I had a similar problem with a bulb that was on its way out. .. changed the bulbs just to rule it out and been fine since

Ok so I changed the brake switch , brake lights working as they should although as soon as your press on the brake pedal the display throws up the bulb symbol. I did notice the high level led tailgate one isn't working on the first few bulbs would that be it ?

Since changing the brake switch now when you turn on the side lights it immediately throws on all the warning lights on the instrument cluster, abs, traction control , heater plug light etc. Any ideas.

I plugged in the scanner and got brake pressure sensor G 201 static no define , brake light switch - F open circuit, and brake pedal monitoring implausible signal.

Anyone.

It is possible Because you disconnect the old brake light switch the fault codes appeared. Delete them and see if they come back again. The bulb symbol Mean thet you have a malfunction bulb lights. Even if there is a bad electrical contact in one of the lamps (Even if the bulb lights up. Enough a small change un the resistance to activate the bulb symbol.)Take out the lamps and Clean the contacts or replace them

Ok I think I have it the high level brake light on the tail gate isn't lighting now, on the old brake light switch it would light although some of the LEDs were out. How do you remove it ?
