brake warning light

Hi, the brake warning light flashes on my a4 04. Seems to do it 1st thing in the morning and more so when it is cold. It doesnt have any message with it, just the warning light with 'brakes' in the middle. Have topped up the fluid and still does it. Has anyone any ideas before I take it down the garage.
