Brake Lines

I will hopefully be doing my S4 brake upgrade soon on my 1.8TQ. Fronts only. Awesome sell some braided brake lines for a 1.8T, will these fit the S4 calipers - presumably they will fit the s4 calipers too, if the standard 1.8T one do?

They'll be fine, the hoses are the same front and rear :thumbsup:

Cool - so A4 and S4 ones are identical all round then?

Should I be looking at better brake fluid or is this a waste of time?

I've done the S4 brake upgrade and the hoses look identical (this on a 1.9 TDi).

Great upgrade too.

I just used DOT 4 fluid, I think Bub went for the 5.1 fluid IIRC

Just don't use DOT5 fluid whatever you do! 4 and 5.1 are fine but can't remember if you can mix them.

you can't mix them, dot4 is mineral based and dot 5.1 is silicone based. you would need to flush the system with meths if you want to replace 4 with 5.1

Correct, you can use either and you CAN mix DOT 4 & DOT 5.1.

Wrong, DOT 5 is silicone fliud and should never be used on a road car.

Stick with 4 or 5.1 :thumbsup:
