Brake lights stuck on

When my lights are turned off the brake lights work fine, as soon as I turn my lights on the brake lights come on aswell and stay lit, only the top boot light works, any help or ideas appreciated

So if the boot light is working normally it cannot be the switch.
I would be worth taking out the rear lights and checking for any corrosion and cleaning the connections with electrical contact cleaner.
Also check any earthing straps in the area are not corroded and they are tightly bolted down.

Yeah the top boot light functions correctly, just to side lights, I have spare clusters that I’ve plugged in and it was still the same, do you know where the earth straps would be? I will clean the connectors and see what happens, Thankyou

This is tricky. Have the brake lights been replaced with LEDs? Sometimes there is a tiny current running that would not illuminate a traditional bulb but it would light an LED. I had this happen when I tried to upgrade the lighting in the boot of an old Fabia we have. Also, if there are just bulbs, check they do not have two filaments in.
check any wires you can see do not have damaged insulation allowing current to pass from one wire to another by accident.

Hi mate I took them apart again yesterday, all te connectors are clean no signs of damage, burning, or corrosion. All wires look and feel intact,

and they are standered rear lights, I’ve replaced all bulbs and still the same senario

if I put the left cluster on the right and the right on the left, the rear lights work as they should however I have no brake lights then.

im stumped as to what else it could be,

So this is my bcm, all looks intact nothing shorted, I replaced all the relays, the light switch, and this is the rear lights all look ok
