Hi All

Looking for opinions whether a braided clutch cable is necessary for the likes of a sachs performance or helix performance clutch when moving to stage 2+

I'm having a new clutch put in soon and wondering if you see any actual benefit or is it just a gimmick?

Thanks

Check out the hybrid clutch marketed by Midland VW. Easily copes with a stage 2+ car. It uses the pressure plate from an RS3 so will not have the strong springs of the Helix or Sachs. No need for the braided clutch line. It is worth removing the little plastic restrictor in the bleeder block

Just spoken to them and they use a LUK dmf with a mk2 TTRS clutch (£1550 fitted or £1200 shipped) if anyone else is interested

I thought the friction plate was from a diesel model so a bit more sticky.

Not sure mate. This was his exact message:

"Hi there, yes indeed. We use a clutch kit from a Audi MK2 TTRS along side standard dual-mass flywheel. Good for 440LBFT. We charge £1,550 supply and fit for Clutch kit, Dual-mass flywheel and Slave cylinder"
