Boot Struts

hi everyone
bit of a strange question for you saloon owners
the oil struts that keep the boot open are leaking a little
nothing too bad..
but i was wondering if i fit new ones
when i press the boot open on the fob will you boot lid open fully
without me having to touch the boot itself?
