Hey all, been a long time since ive been here, thankfully been trouble free until yesterday,

Basically the screenwash light came on, i purchased some screenwash got home and went to open the bonnet and it wont budge,
Its been a bit dodgy for a while now but normally opens after 2/3 attempts on the lever but not this time,

I pull the lever in the car it has a bit of tension but only towards the end of the pull, Ive tried getting my missus to pull the lever whilst i push down and pull on the bonnet but its not having it,

Is there a cheap way of releasing it and repairing it, was thinking of taking the grille out but would require a new one

Any help would be appreciated

Regards

Jamie

I've heard that with enough extensions you can undo the catch from underneath, I guess you'd need to drop the belly plate down first.

Been in the same situation a few months ago, pulled to hard and snapped the handle, grabbed the cable with pliers then got it oppened but damaged the cable in process. You need to remove the inner plastic arch liner to replace the cable, not difficult but time consuming. Parts were about 30 quid from dealer... The car i was on about had work done by another garage and they have not adjusted the front panels following a injector pump change.

Thanks guys, I have now got the bonnet open but is there a way of rectifying the problem and making it easier to undo next time don't fancy taking belly pan off and trying to thread extension bars up through the engine lol, is there anything I can grease, lubricate or even tighten up the cable?

Regards
