Hello fellas

Time for some questions.
I got my BT module delivered today and rushed to get it installed :)

First of all its a 8P0862335K model, didn`t know that when i ordered, i thought it was N. Some say that K have firmware problems, let`s hope they won`t appear in my car :)

First of all i installed it, coded it (i think correctly) made a call , microphone works everything ok

Thing is the contacts from my phone won`t download to the RNS-e (i believe its that the contacts are in Greek)

I also changed the wiring , thought it was a TEL NF + - problem, surprisingly it worked both ways. How could that be? I got TEL NF+ in pin 8 of the BT module and TEL NF- in 9

And one last thing
Check this photo end tell me how i should code the module, just to be sure i did everything ok.
I`m about to retrofit a MFSW tomorrow, so i would like to enable that already.

RNS-e coding : 0205755 (Got AUX also , set for MFSW too and used "Base plate diagnostic capable with Comfort Control)
Correct?

And one last edit:

Since i used the KL30 (+12V) from the RNS-e , doesn`t this mean that the supply of the voltage will be always on? What are the chances of me ending up with a flat battery?

Got some bunch of faults too, many of them intermittent , so cleared, but others keep popping up!

The one that cant be erased is this:

00466 - Control Module for Steering Column Electronics (J527)

Ok all solved now, MFSW is added everything works OK

Staz you can close/delete, feel free to go MAD! :)

lol, dear oh dear, lol

so what was the problem & admit if it was your faullt, lol

Well i actually have no idea, i guess the Power Faults appeared while i was trying to crimp the wires together, lol , thank got nothing burst into flames , lmao

Got the MFSW on today too, stupid MODE button does nothing than display my Phone Book , i thought it would do so much more!

NHN whats the deal with the TEL NF cables? Why did the module work both ways?

Got a new annoying thing now though, when the wheel is in the straight(?) position and i turn it slightly right it makes a sound like : ktack. Dunno really what`s about, have to get it checked!

Mode button is rather pathetic huh, lol

Yeah if crimping on/off then there would be some faults.

When you fitted the wheel I guess you centered it with the marks in the steering column spline & the wheel, there should be notches in each to line up & also when you did the steering wheel you did it whilst wheels staright & didnt move the slip ring at all?? I have a feeling maybe your slip ring is the noise, where does the noise come from, behind the steering wheel or from outside whilst turning?

The slip ring has to be in a certain position when removing old wheel & fitting new, if its one turn out then you can have issues & actually loose all steering wheel functions interms of mfsw & airbag given it is the loom ribbon from wheel to the steering module & this can if not in correct state rip the ribbon out of position when turning full locks

NF wires should be connected as marked/as elsa shows so pass, lol.

Well about the TEL NF , since the module works in order, i guess they are correctly connected , lol

Yeah i didnt move the Slip Ring at all, the noise is coming from behind the SW , so yeah could be the rings fault.

Had some issues when i retrofitted Cruise (actually AUDI did) and the plastic was rubbing against the wheel.
After changing the wheel with the new MF one, everything stopped rubbing, lol, but this click noise continued.

Does it click at a certain point & everytime say turning left at 9pm, nail it down to when & position then inspect it at that position, I personally believe you left the spline socket inside, lmfao, nah I reckon you havnt put the trim on properly & its catching mate, remove & check it as sounds simple enough to fix, try putting wheel on without the trims & see if does then, then you have your answer.

No no the trim is in place, if you check from the side, you can see that there is enough space between the trim and the SW.

I does it every time i turn the wheel in a specific way thats what worries me.
It did the noise even without the trim, as i had it without for quite some time now

I`ll try to make a video just to make things clear. Give me a sec! ;)

It is either the slip ring ribbon making the noise or trim/plastic getting caught, it cant be much else mate, try removing wheel & moving the slip ring round to left/right, remembering number of turns/position was in (thats important, very)

Ribbon has loads of grease around it in slip ring to keep it loose & not noisy, sometimes it does this though but goes away after a bit of driving as I had aswell.

Ok video was a total failure, my phone picks up all sort of noises, can`t be really helpfull.

I`ll drive by the dealer to ask them to take a look at my slip ring, if its faulty ill replace it :)

I wouldnt do that just yet, check ur work again, then make sure you plead ignorance & get it under warranty, if its something you missed then better to sort it now or you'll get a large bill as they would spot u had that retrod to car obviously as they only have to check ur car spec list

No worries there N. all the people working at the Dealership are good friends, so i do half the job and when i need their help they do the rest :)

That`s why im going, so we can put everything under warranty!

Remember the Armrest lid? Warrant-ied :)

Guys (N. especially, lol) is there a way to turn the volume down of old grinch talking to me when i`m trying to call a number via Steering Wheel?
She`s actually pretty scary and VERY loud!

I`m not talking about Navigation or SDS commands, my only problem is the 3rd lady talking to me when i`m using the BT via the steering wheel!

& our survey says, press the button & say help, whilst she's speaking to you, turn the volume down to lower her voice, then press the button & hold to cancel then test it again see if lowered.

Some say its the phone`s fault, i tried lowering the volume while the chime was on, or while she said "The number is being dialed" and nothing happened.

Could this be related to the TEL NF + and - pins?
Still got my doubts about how i connected them :)

Edit: What you suggest N. isn`t actually turning down the volume of the SDS commands? This level is actually OK, my only problem is when i`m trying to make a call from the steering wheel.

When i use SDS to make a call, she talks to me calm and nicely :) It only happens when i use the MODE button, scroll through my contacts and press the button to make the call

Then all hell brakes loose!

Go into Sound & then select Volume Settings & there's a few options in there for Guidance & SDS

Well yeah N. those are all OK.

My problem is with the lady talking to me when i`m trying to dial via Steering Wheel + BT Chime

These get pretty loud
