Hi everyone

My A4 Black Edition Avant arrives on Tuesday and I'm looking to swap the Audi rings, and the A4 badge on the boot for black badges.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of these from please?

With all the black trim, these few final chrome bits look odd.

Thanks

I recently swapped all of my chrome badges for gloss black ones, it’s a bit stealthier as the S4 badges are hard to see in black and as you mentioned, it matches brilliantly with the black optic pack.

I found all the badges i needed on eBay, all were around £8-9 each with free delivery and were really great quality. The S4 badges from eBay were actually better quality than the genuine ones!

best advice is to wait until you have your car, measure up the sizes then order through eBay. Avoid the bundles as usually the front will be the correct size but the back rings will be much smaller than stock. All I searched was ‘black Audi badges’ most list the dimensions in the title so I kept scrolling until I saw the size I needed.

I used a heat gun, fishing wire and some polish to remove the stock badges. Piece of cake.

Sounds straightforward. Considering this too. Please can you share before and after photos Stretch S4 so we can see the change. AndybanksUK is this a new 2020 A4. I presume the badges have not changed with the facelift?

It is a brand new 2020 facelift. I'll get some photos of the current badges when it arrives Tuesday.

Hopefully you can see the attached pics.

I don’t normally photograph my car so I don’t have many before pics, other than the one I took the day I changed the badges.

I haven’t done the front grille yet as I’m considering swapping it for an RS style at some point.

Thanks StretchS4. Looks great!

Did you do the front grill ring badge also?

ive left it as it for the moment until I make my mind up about changing to an RS style honeycomb grill. The front badge is an easy swap as it simply clips in. Lots of vids on YouTube on how to tackle it.

FYI Rear 2020 A4/S4 Audi rings are same size as previous models - 8" x 2".

For my B9 I think I bought them from the dealership? I seem to remember Basingstoke Audi was able to do a good price on them.
But for my B8 I brought them from ebay.

I've since added a splitter and tinted the rear reflectors (in the bumper)

Nice1 so the badges are genuine and not from eBay! ok, I was about to pull the trigger on eBay badges https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Gl...For-Audi-A1-A3-A4-S4-A5-273x94mm/202948684467 .... Maybe they will be ok actually, I'll see how much Audi Edinburgh charge first. The splitter looks nice, I have one I am watching over at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-SPLITTER-VER-1-FOR-AUDI-A4-B9-S-LINE-2015-UP/223915674004 looks the same type. What's it like for speed bumps? looks low profile so maybe only adds an inch or so?

Nice! looks smart on Tango Red, for sure just gave my A4 Black edition in Tango Red back last week in place for Ibis white A4 Avant Black edition, looking to go black badge this time, wish I had done it years ago with 2017 A4 in Tango Red. £45 bucks each seems overpriced for what they are, at least they will fit :), are genuine ones still plastic?. Wonder what the actual difference is between eBay ones and genuine Audi ones.

Yep that's the same splitter - I bought it from their website, but you can see from the ebay seller name that both are direct.

It's doesn't that much depth to the bumper. I've only caught it once and that was with one side of the car on a kerb and going into a large dip
It was a bit of a pain to fit, but that was more due to OCDness on my part.
Note the splitter is a vaccum forming - so there is no bottom on it

Yep they are plastic - looking at the pictures from the link the clips on the back of them are different- look to be a couple missing

I thought they were expensive but wanted to be certain they would fit. I also asked about the badges on the side of the car and was quoted £184 for them!

So I got round to Installing my black badges today, I also replaced the number plate holder with an original Audi sport one. Im loving the new look, it contrasts the black and grey theme, especially with my carbon mirror caps. As the car is a "black pack" upgrade, I've decided to leave the front grill standard, I prefer the OEM look.

Nice one! those OEM Audi parts or third party parts?. Look very nice with the colour of your car. On that subject, my friend works in Audi Edinburgh and I got an OEM Black set, actually took them back because...the ones I got from eBay were identical look and fitting. I wasn't expecting much TBH but the link is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202948684467 really nice badges, gloss black all the way through it seems, unlike other eBay listings. Fitting is identical as well.

Here is a photo of the front with a cheeky black Sline badge also because I am an A4 not S4 with badges.

So I was going to buy them from Audi, however i figured for the cost difference it was worth buying the badges from eBay to assess the quality. I couldn't tell any difference between the badges so like you, used the eBay ones!

Here is the link to eBay to the supplier: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/autodoc_carparts

Smart move for sure, they are expensive for what you get. I did destroy the silver badge getting it off though, the clips on the back anyway. Will make a good extra-large keyring now :)

I tested out Plastidip on my chrome badge before I replaced it with a black one from eBay. I have to say, the Plastidip gloss black I got was really good, a little bumpy in places and though didn't look right it was a mild gloss finish which was nice..... wasted £11 on it TBH, I am glad I replaced the badge, in the end, to full gloss.

Used the Plastidip for kids toy Audi R8 car instead :) gave it a black badge as well.
