BIL11 85 (mkII) 2022 RS3 8Y Build

Fitted the 15mm spacers I had from my launch edition. These are bit to much and close to rubbing on full lock with the Bridgestone tires so I’ll try the 10mm ones as I’ll soon be lowering it with eibach pros which is 20mm drop.

I'm very jealous of your drive (i've got stones in the new place) and the fact you spanner. I can no longer lift an alloy wheel due to surgery (core sliced open twice). Miss that. Love a build thread! :)

Being lazy - where did you get the 4" elbow from and i guess it's just a straight easy swap with a jubilee clip or 3? TIA

The elbow came from a guy on the Facebook forum, and it’s a bit fiddly as your doing everything by feel, can’t actually see it.

Some photos taking after my ceramic coating, can’t say I’ve ever had a better colour of car!

Look forward to getting the rest of the mods fitted and getting this to 500bhp

Very nice Billy. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you do. Are you still going ahead with the Eibach Pro?

Stunning car Billy. Did you use the same 12 & 15mm spacers as on your last car?
I had 20R and 15F on last car not 12. I’ve fitted 15 all round just now but will probably have to go to 10 all round when I lower it

Mate, use a heat gun on the inner plastic liner and mould it in slightly so your tyre doesn't scrape. Easy fix.

To be honest that’s not what I’m worried about, my launch edition had no paint left on the rear arches! It can rub the plastic all it wants haha but come a year or so if it’s the metal with no paint, that will just rust.

Hey Billy, car looks amazing, what ceramic coating did you go for?

Jeeez……Doesn’t that bother you, selling the car on in that condition ? Future owner will be picking up a bill for getting that repaired, or potentially getting nowhere with a dealer when rust starts forming and they can’t explain why.

The future owner sure doesn't know that the car has been modified, decat and de-opf either. Wonder how's warranty going to be if the new guy needs it.

The start of an ownership that turns into a nightmare.....................................

On a 6month old car you just dont expect to find no paint on the wing arches and in all probability an exhaust system thats been cut and rewelded several times, if it ends up in an Audi showroom very few people will crawl underneath it including the dealer, it's just not expected

Wasn't the backbox opened at some point as well? I remember some post from someone that took it somewhere (not sure if that's the car or the owner here) to get the guts removed for "more sound", so you might be onto something with the "exhaust system that's been cut and rewelded several times" :tearsofjoy:

imho very shady but guess can't do much about it - just got to avoid that car like plague if you are in the UK.

I wouldn't feel bad if I was billy to be honest, after all he sold it back to the dealer if the dealer didn't check all of these things it's their issue. They are the ones selling it on.

Its not passing the buck, it's the dealer not checking over the car. He hasn't done anything illegal, hasn't clocked or cut and shut the car

He's paid what the rest of us have for these cars. Up to him what he chooses to do with it.

Is that the same for people adding Tuning boxes like yourself? Your pushing the car outside of what audi sold it as by giving it an extra 50bhp

Lol tuning box make the car rusty in 6 months though ?

Last time I had a JB4 on a RS3 it made 34 hp extra over standard figures, and actually this time is a more a logging exercise for burger on a EU car.

I get what you are trying to say, but abusing a car in such a short space of time then selling it on with a bodywork issue that someone will blame Audi for……. Yer having a laugh.

There's quite a difference between a simple tuning box and rust in the wheel arches causes by some dumb spacers. Not only it breaks the geometry of the car + removes paint like sandpaper. (+ the decat, de-opf, intake, steering wheel and who knows what else was done on the car)

I think your missing the point, it's audis responsibility to check the car in.

And whether its 35bhp or 100bhp added you've taken the car further than it was made to be by audi.

Won’t be going back to audi complaining about Rusty bodywork though.

I bet if you paid 67k and noticed that when you got it home you’d be royally kicking off.

But they can see the rusty bodywork? They can't see a tuning box was on it

Of course I would be fuming lol

But at the same time I would check the car over and walk away when looking.

Its an RS at the end of the day not a Nissan leaf. Most of these cars will have something done to them in there lifetime. Anyone who buys one even 6months old is not very clever if they think it's been driven by Karen to the shops once a week and not messed around with.

You wouldn’t expect to buy one and it ‘mysteriously’ start rusting after 6 winter months though would you………

He knew it was like that, why not have it fixed it’s down to his meddling that it’s that way in the first place.

And re tuning box, it’s still my car and not on an Audi forecourt being advertised as a ‘as new’ car, if I keep it like the 8V, it’ll be until warranty runs out.
You wouldn’t expect a 6 month old car to have bodywork damage, exhaust tampered with and god knows what else, but as someone said to me today, ‘there’s no way I’d buy any used RS3’. And I’d have to agree with that.

At the risk of being that guy...........

Build topics are always useful, especially on a relatively new car. Helps the rest of us decide on what to do to our cars. So selfishly it would be good if this thread was kept up to date with whatever Billy does next. But the way this thread is going, i wouldn't be surprised if it died on it's ****.

They followed me on Instagram so knew of all my mods, and I told them they car had been rubbing and they checked this out so again, nothing was hidden.

This car was bought out right, not on PCP so if I choose to modify my own car I’ll do just that. I’m not keeping my car standard so it’s a better car for the next owner.

If someone’s not happy about buying a car and not knowing it’s full history, fine. Go buy a new one from Audi.

My price was much cheaper than all the other RS3s for sale at the time so everything was reflected in it. The car is now for sale on a Audi fore court so I’d imagine it’s had a full check of everything so I’d imagine there is no issues with the car at all.
