Recently my drivers side headlight has been flickering and now it turns off itself and comes up with 'dipped beam fault' on the DIS.

If i turn the lights off and then on again it fires up but then dies again pretty much straight away.

Anyone had the same issue?

I am dreading on having to spend stupid money for either a new control unit or a bulb!

what does vagcom say? I'm sure if you dont mind fleabay etc the bulbs are too bad, its the controller for Bi thats bit rarer & more pricey.

not had chance to vagcom it yet, hoping its the bulb but knowing luck it will be the control unit.

I had the exact same problem with my drivers light, and less often on my passangers. I changed both of the xwnon bulbs and hey presto problem solved. When i took the old ones out there was "crap" in the little gas chamber, which i beleive was causing the problem.

Euro car parts do the bulbs for about £70 each and they are genuine philipps ones.

Hope this helps!

Sounds like bulb to me mate, £50 set on ebay 6k & work no worries.
