    Hi Guys,

Its been a while since iv last posted. I need to replace the curve arm due to the bush deteriorating.

Searching from the forum Lemfordar or Meyle HD are recommended, but where would the best place to buy these parts from?

    Thanks

Found these guys excellent to deal with. Haven't ordered for a while - but they know VAG. Have chassis number available to hand if you're ordering.

You will find Mike at Listers Worcester, same service, same level of discount, probably not Mike that handles things now always. I think that he can be contacted directly via Facebook etc.

That's bad news, I've always contacted them by email as I'm not on face book either.

Anyway, if your car is of an age to need new arms then I think that most people and even most VAG Indies will offer the real thing with the Audi ID ground off them, which probably means Lemforder - I'm sure that some people have bought entire kits via ebay in Germany so that they have saved lots of cash and should not need to bother about these arms again as long as they own that car.

I was looking at them, as murray's quoted me £98 for one of the arms for one of the sides (Meyle HD) , so the whole kit for £450 sounds cheap. No idea which ones are genuine Lemfordar/Meyle HD parts being supplied as Murry's advised Lemfordar dont do the arms.

I was looking into this after my Audi dealer gave me an advisory for one arm on both sides at my S4's last MOT (I'll soon find out if using a proper VAG Indie is a better plan for MOT next week or so!).
When I looked on GSF, they were offering a choice of brands for some arms and only their own "special" brand for ours.
Maybe when looking on the Lemforder website around that time, it seemed that some part numbers (Lemforder's) were changing and it seemed like the top company was rebranding some items as maybe ZF as they or they now own Lemforder.
I think that a lot has been written around this subject (replace suspension arms with Audi or OEM parts),and a few forum members have sourced complete kits and other a few individual parts - maybe this is more relevant where the car concerned has been lowered and so will always be harder on its suspension arm bonded bushes even if fitted correctly.
For me with a standard build B8 S4 and running very little annual mileage, I am still trying to work out if one arm per side is showing signs of separation, does that mean that others will follow soon after and so need progressively more/other arms replaced as time goes on. If I knew the true answer to that I take the correct way to sort out my car.

Thats the thing, from what iv read on the forum some have just changed everything. im in the same boat at the moment little mileage on a standard set up. My indie recommended just doing the bendy one (that needs doing) as opening this particular one wont disturb the others and they dont need changing.

I just ordered a set from autodoc for £178 for a pair of lemforder ones. Have to search with oem part numbers. Will go through my invoice and post a link. Wait for the discount to reach 29% for that price.

So by what you have read, does that sound like the ones listed on a later posting?

I'll need to get my car up in the air again as I did not notice anything much that would cause me serious worries after getting the advisories from my MOT at Audi - and the standard description given by MOT examiners is not too good to pin down which link was annoying them - just "lower arm pin or bush" left and right.

Next MOT, within a few weeks, will be at an VW-Audi Indie, so hopefully they will either not think its an issue or tell me which links need replacing.

Ill only know once i get the car opened and checked. if it doesnt really disturb any other joins and the other parts are fine i rather not. even though i would save on labour and time if i did all of them once.

    fingers crossed mate.

vwcardiff seem to have an ebay presence, but if that means anything wrt none fast moving parts, I can't say, I'm sure that I've used them or another VW main dealer that I discovered when Googling vwparts or a similar search term, they gave discount for none service parts. as well as for service parts and cover Audi as well.

Edit:- I've tried that Google search again and see that it is now Sinclair VW that is linked to it and only offering VW parts, so that has changed.

I think that I meant to update my last posting to confirm that Sinclair VW and vwparts are the same another ebay trader or Audi dealer on ebay is "audi.partsdirect" who is Cardiff Audi, actually, I've just bought a NOS VW Polo 6R RHS mirror cap - primed, from them - which is slightly different from buying new parts with discount though!

Spoken to Meyle UK today, they have advised me they do a full kit part number 1160500222/HD.

They have a a distributor A to Z motor factor who have a ebay shop to buy from.

They have quoted me for the full kit £430, im thinking if its worth waiting for ebays 20% discount to see if i can get it cheaper :).
