Hi guys, I should be picking up my new 2 me 3.2 quattro this week, its on a long life service at the mo and is only 5,000 miles into it but I have awlays done an oil change around 5,000 ish miles and would like 2 use better quality oil like Mob 1 so would you guys change the oil and filter asap or wait until the next long service is due and what oil do you guys use?

Thanks,
Karl.

I would use the quantum longlife 3 available from skoda vw and audi dealers or tps if you have an account change it every 9 to 10000 miles any sooner is a waste of money its longlife so 9 to 10000 is no problem reasonably priced and good stuff

I change mine every 10,000km's oil and filter and use re usable magnetic sump plug. I use whatever fully synth 5W 40 ( Sweden mind! ) oil my garage has on a deal. It's a very emotive debate on the Forum especially with the long life stuff which I stopped using when I took my bus off the long service intervals.

Cheers

Considering its just the normal 3.2 I wouldn't worry too much about being on the long life stuff. If it were the 2.0T then I would stay away from long life and go to a variable service.

For the 3.2 if I remember correct the long life is every 20000 miles/2 years which is 5w30. Some people use thicker oil to keep the noise down on the chain.

Otherwise if you going for short changes you can go for a 5w40 but suggested to change every 10000 miles/1 year.

Don't worry about doing long services intervals. The car will thank you for it.
Do mine every 6k and use 5w40. Currently using comma but going to quantum next. Don't forget it holds a lot of oil :).

I only do around 4000 miles a year lol so normaly change oil and filter every summer with mob 1 super synthetic

Would you guys use Mobil 1 New Life 0W/40 Oil in the 3.2 v6? Dont want the car on long service (would rather change the oil and filter every year or 4000ish miles) Can you have the service reminder set for this, if so how?

Thanks,
Karl.

I cant recall what year your car is but if its a 2006+ then its 6.5 litres.

You should be okay with 0w40 as a alternative you can always use 5w40.

When I had my 2.0Tfsi serviced by our local specialist recently, he told me that they and the local Audi dealers all use Castrol Edge so that's what I bought to top up as necessary.
