Best and Worst Stealers

Watford are geared up for European Sales.

You can order LHD from them, if required.

I'm quite sure they are not bothered by the loss of a sale to an internet broker.
Agree buddy :thumbs up:

But, guess what will happen when I come to buy another Audi, change my S3 or someone asks me to recommend a local Audi dealer? ;)

I've had a really good experience so far with Audi Southend. Arranged a test drive to meet my schedule and let me extend it without warning by an hour or so so I could try it out on different road types. Once back, the ordering process couldn't have been easier. Plus, they all but matched the offer through Carwow. I didn't even have to try that hard, just brought up that I was looking for some flexibility on the price. Played it straight with what Audi Maidstone had offered through Carwow, and they came in so very close to it. With them being on my door step I couldn't resist.

Granted, I'm only two weeks in from ordering, but I seem to be getting the best of both worlds so far.

Audi York okay for me. Bought my used approved from there and the deal was good.

Having it fixed in Stockport though as its local. Up to know they left there inspection mirror under my bonnet which I found when I heard a rattle on the way home. More work to get done at Stockport under warranty. Time will tell if they are any good on the service side.

Went to Maidstone Audi yesterday, the lady that "didn't" help me out was not helpful at all, had no interest in my custom and was all in all a stuck up lazy creature! I won't be returning to that dealership if I can help it.

I've had dealings with a few different Audi centres now. Her'es my review:

Bradford Audi: I originally had dealings with Bradford in Jan 07 when I purchased my first Audi (an 8p S3). The salesman I dealt with was excellent, I got a discount which I was intially told I had no chance of getting, it involved him ringing through to his manager who had to ring another manager to authorise it! It was great fun but the whole process was excellent and I couldn't fault him in anyway. I think his name was John Line and his whole aim all the time was to receive the best rating he could if I received a customer call afterwards. Needless to say I obliged as he fully deserved it.
However, that's where the good stories about Bradford end. A couple of years in to my ownership I received offers to upgrade my car. I went down to enquire about an S4. Unfortunately my previous salesman had moved upstairs. The person I dealt with never took me seriously. He took an age to get hold of a car to test drive (after repeated phone calls from myself to chase). After he did he then said he would get a price for me. He never got back in touch so in the end I just phoned his manager and told him what had gone on. Needless to say I never purchased another car from them and have never been back. They lost my custom.

Huddersfield Audi: I first had dealings here a year ago when looking to order a new S3 (8v model). When I went in everything seemed ok but they never really chased me or followed anything up and to be quite honest I never felt they actually wanted to sell me a car (or took me seriously), I ended up negotiating a price but it was very poor, I told them would think about it and they never even rang me back. Really poor in my opinion.

Leeds Audi: Very impressed from the moment i walked in. I went in here in between my dealings with Huddersfield and I deliberately went in between Christmas and New Year 12 months ago as I thought they would be quiet and looking for the sale. Immediately I got the feeling the salesman actually wanted to sell me a car without being too pushy or over the top. After my first visit he said he would find a car to test drive. He phoned me back before the day was out to check if there was anything else I wanted. After my poor negotiations with Huddersfield I went here to negotiate a much better deal. The whole process took 3-4 hours and it included the head of business coming to explain things to me. My sales person very quickly worked out I was very picky, had thoroughly done my research and I liked to understand everything about the deal. Despite this though he just worked with me and did what it took and I was pleased with the deal. It's worth mentioning though that before I went back in to discuss the deal and a possible purchase I had already been phoned by their customer services department to check I had been looked after properly. I was also impressed by this as I felt the whole system was in place to look after me.

During the 6 month wait for my car I had constant contact with the dealer. I even requested a private detailer to go in and prepare my car and for their people to not touch it. This was no problem and by this stage of knowing me he wasn't in the least bit surprised! There was an issue when i collected in that the number plate was wrong but this was sorted out the next day and my salesman delivered a correct one to my house and fit it for me!

I certainly won't hesitate in going back there when i replace my current car. I will also specifically look to deal with the same person who I am happy to name on here as he deserves the custom!

Agree, sales 100% but service has slipped dramatically over the past 18 months, so much I've now left them altogether and found a reliable and HONEST Audi/VW specialist.

Audi Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh for me are terrible.

They do not offer one dime of a discount - no suprises that many Scottish members across the various Audi forums all tend to go down South for their cars.

*** Northampton Audi ***

I chose my spec

I haggled for a few weeks

I got my discount

I did the deal

Simples.

Would definitely go back. Will see how they handle customer care once I take delivery of the car.

Macclesfield Audi...........

Probably the nicest car sales person I've ever dealt with. Got the deal I wanted, including a great p/x. The big let down was the handover. I was looking forward to an 'experience' especially with my last 2 cars being Lexus. My brand new S3 was presented to me outside in the drizzle, rather than the viewing bay etc. This was following a lot of messing around with paperwork, which took far too long. At the time, it didn't bother me too much......I just wanted the car. In hindsight, it annoys me.

Audi Glasgow, very good with me, and a very decent discount on my S3.

Suprising!

I test drove the S3 2 Saturdays ago. The salesman told me to send my config code across and he would have a deal back to me by late afternoon.

After a few emails over next few days with me having to repeatedly chase I finally got a full fat quote on Xmas eve with no discount at all. I then explained what discount could be had elsewhere and I never heard from him again.

Just wanted to post a thread with this title for anyone searching. For anyone looking for an Audi, can't recommend these guys highly enough. Special mention for Kirsty, who sold me my S3. Great to deal with and I got the deal I wanted.

You really learn about a company when things go wrong (see my emissions thread). Have received exceptional customer service from these guys too, and they really know their stuff. I probably could have saved a couple of percent with Carwow etc, but after sales support is important to me.

Highly recommended........go and see Kirsty for a deal (and no, I am not in any way connected with her or the dealership!).

Hi Jay

That's useful to know.

I ordered my S3 from Audi Stockport (also Inchcape) and collected it on 30 October '14. I've had no problems with Stockport thus far and the salesman has been excellent. However, as I live (more or less) between Stockport and Macc, it's good to know that I have an alternative.

As both are Inchcape, I would have expected the service to be the same at both but maybe a garage is only as good as the individuals running it?

Regards

BARRY

I agree glasgow say no discounts on s3 to keep residuals high.

Hello Coventry, ordered placed :)

Across the pond but

Belfast Audi I think is a fantastic dealership. I've never bought a car off them but they are supremely helpful in the Parts Dept, I know the parts manager very well. The dealership on a whole has been so accommodating with Audi-Sport.net and we have built up a fantastic relationship with them and they are giving us exclusive meets this year. I found all staff very pleasant and helpful and refreshments are always offered if you have to wait at any time.

hmmm....of my three services with them, the car has had to be returned to rectify issues they caused, every time! Never had experiences like this with previous marques.

Likewise. Service they don't really give two hoots about the car, I have a long list of problems that have happened and really shouldn't be expected from a large brand and even the group. £100+/hr a labour for people to go out trashing your car (literally) and giving it zero respect.

Hello Coventry, ordered placed :)
My local Audi dealers said exactly the same thing

So Coventry got my business too ;)

If you buy a car and have a good price, does it really matter what the delaer is like? THy ehave a legal duty to provide a car that fits with its description and in prpoer conditoin.

All they do is do a pdi nad then you collect it - so why not go for the cheapest price?

Do we really need delaers at all - maybe one Audi delaer in Birmingham with every car fro everyone in the uk so you can have a test driv[e then just order it yourself on the internet as booking a ryaniar fight - should save audi a lot of the costs of these fancy stealerships and lower prices!

You only need somewhere to service, and most Audi dealer do not have a bodyshop anyway, so if subcontractors can do your body why not service your car - after all most components like brkaes air filters oil tc are the smae for every car?!

I'd say yes! It's nice to know you can go locally and just look at any new models etc. when you're passing, rather than having to drive for hours to one main dealer. It's also nice to get a friendly salesperson who chats to you about general things rather than just "Are you buying the car? If not go away I'm busy" type of attitude. I recently went to pick up a brochure as they had none in when I ordered the S3, Chris the sales guy I have been dealing with took time out for a chat about what we were going to do over the weekend etc. He also answers emails very quickly and returns all phone calls when promised. It's just the little things that make the difference! BMW didn't answer two emails I sent them about placing an order, so Audi got my business instead.

It may sound sad to some, but I feel that buying a premium brand should be a pleasurable experience, you want to feel like you are being treated a little bit special/better than you would if you were buying the likes of Ford/Vauxhall/Mazda etc. So far I can't complain about my experience, if the after sales service is as good as what I've received up to now they will have a customer for life.

Tyneside Audi - I have already praised the sales side of the business (earlier in the thread). I had a gearbox failure after 3 months of ownership from new on my S3 and it happened over the Christmas/New Year period (not the best time for sourcing new parts when factory closed for holiday etc.).
I can only praise the service I received yet again. The loan car might not have been fantastic, but I only needed it for a week out of the two weeks my car was away getting fixed, so not a major issue. The job was done when they said it would be and I collected when I expected. The work appears to be good, the fault is fixed and they even respected my request not to wash the car. So far I have been impressed with both sales and service. Recommended.

For me, buying a new car is an experience that should be a pleasurable one. The after sales relationship is also important. I've had Lexus for some years, who treat their customers like royalty. Audi had a lot to live up to. So far, Macclesfield Audi have delivered. For anyone who wants to order their expensive car in the same way they would order a DVD from Amazon, that's fine, but for me, the relationship is important and worth paying a couple of extra percent.

I'm quite surprised that nobody has mentioned Coulsdon Audi on here; apparently they make the 2nd most sales in the UK after West London Audi.

Anyway I bought my car through Eren, when he was at Coulsdon. Absolutely cracking guy, really focussed on the customer service side of things and offered a good discount. Might have helped that I went into the dealership with my mate and we pretty much just wrote "X2" on the spec sheet. I've subsequently followed Eren to Wimbledon Audi to refer my friend who bought an A1 there and again, great customer service.

I'd say the only problem with Coulsdon Audi is the wait times for a loan car while you have a fault. I've had to wait best bit of 4 weeks before and had to go elsewhere as it was too long for me.

Has anyone else had a similar good experience at Coulsdon?

Crawley Audi on the other hand; the general manager I spoke to after ringing up for a test drive of an S3 they turned around and said that due to my age they don't offer test drives .... even went so far as to suggest I organize my own insurance for a two hour test drive yeah sure....and a general not interested brash attitude thoroughly dissatisfied and I wish I had sent a letter to the executives of that dealership. It's almost like people think that the younger generation are here to take the p**s well you lost out on a genuine sale Crawley. Years ago ( 2009) when my father started to look at buying an Audi we visited that dealership and the whole experience still hasn't changed!

Purchased an A3 S Line from Chris in Crawley and it was nothing but good stuff. Helped when we wanted to change the spec slightly quite late on in the build and came back with answers when we phoned up with silly questions!

Initially we told them we were only looking at the A3 to get an idea of what we wanted, there was no pressure but we got what info we wanted.

Arranged a test drive easily and had three test drives of different models. Even picked us up in an A7 when it was time to get thenew S Line.

Watford Audi have been amazing with me. They went the extra mile when I had no car to get me one and they still gave me a discount! Even keeping the place open for longer so I could pick it up!

Grimsby Audi were good for me. As for the local BMW dealer I'm still waiting for the test drive in a 135i I booked before last Xmas. While I think about I am still waiting for my local VW dealer to get back to me about a Golf R from last October..........

Hmm, Aberdeen Audi told me they had the highest UK sales last year?

Stansted Audi good for me, bought my 4th car from them this week (replacement Q5), Sales always prepared to go the extra mile and Service been very efficient.

I visited Portsmouth Audi 2 weeks ago to query the RS3, the sales guy had no interest to talk about orders or spec and couldn't even find ANY info on the computer system about the RS3 (so he said)
He even stood up from his desk to shake my hand out of the door, I sat there bemused!!!!! 0 out of 10 to them.

Basingstoke Audi got my deposit just a few days later, the guy there was brilliant, more than happy to present information and chatted about my car, he even had a go, he was well impressed with the FSR and intake :). RS3 ordered there and then, a bit outa my way, but for service I'm prepared to travel.

What do you mean pre-orderd? I'm trying to order my RS3 from Newbury, having got my S3 and Q5 from there. The reason I cancelled my MY15 TTS at Basingstoke was a total lack of customer support. HAve I got to go back to Basingstoke? I live midway beween the 2?

I found Basingstoke polite professional and interested, even though we couldn't agree on price.

@monopole - like the avatar you have just now.
