Just noticed in my service book it says the toothed belt needs replacing at 133k miles on the 2.0TDI (2015 model).

I assume thats the timing belt, and is it really 133k miles? Or is it 133k miles or 7yrs whichever comes sooner (although the book doesn't mention this)?

Given my current 8k miles a year it's gonna be 16yrs until this belt needs changing for me, that can't be right, surely?

Our Fiesta had a similar interval for a the belt change, I chickened out at 100k and had it done anyway!

If you go on the Audi website servicing subsection there's a generic 'XXX miles or 5 yrs whichever is sooner' statement. Rubber deteriourates overtime irrespective of usage, hence date stamps on tyres.

Historically I'd agree with you, but I wonder if they've changed stance for newer models?
