muneeb! your car looks sick! i need to see more pics! of the wheel in the arch (face) pictures to see how they fill the arch. dont think i could do a td 1.2 on a phantom s3

S3RYE & Martin thanks for the kind comments. Was travelling with work so didn't have access to the car to take a pic but seems like you are all sorted with the wheel situation. The BBS CH's look really nice in 18". One of my favourite wheels and a good classic design. Car will look so much better once it's lowered.

Off topic, but has anyone noticed after lowering on H&R's that ride is a bit bouncy?? Not sure if it is the roads or if I am bieng paraniod but I have noticed that a lot of people on the forum haven't felt the need to upgrade the shocks...??? Thinking of going for a set of Koni FSD's.

Springs should be no more than 2 hours labour then £50 for a 4 wheel alignment (recommended) but If I were you I'd hang on and get a proper coil over set up. This is my plan.

Can you get anymore CH at this price ?

i know they do, tbh they look bigger than i expected.. everyone thats seen my car says they look perfect, almost oem.. and as you say once lowered it will look great.. hmmm see now you got me thinking! im a bit torn between springs or coilies... u sayin that you feel the need for dampers is makin me thing go coilies.. i know its much better to have a matched damper/spring.. H&R have just brought this out which is i think the same as H&R springs + FSD's... anyone see this?? http://www.orange-tuning.de/shop/audi-sportback-cupkit-comfort-suspensionkit-25mm-p-17651.html

Didnt cost me anything to fit the springs as I did them myself with a mate (bbsboy) - easy peasy!

I would wait till its lowered. I'm running stretch aren't I, so I can get away with more poke on the back, you could run 10/12mm rears deffo I reckon. Nathan aka Nate/N8 :jump:

im gonna wait!!!

ok, but if i go 10-12mm on the back, what do i do on the front (keepin quattro in mind) ??

It's okay to stagger them slightly, I have had no issues with 12mm rear, 10mm front, personally I think your car looks spot on and would leave the spacers until you have fit the Coil overs.

If you want the same sort of stance as BBS CK you will only need 6mm spacers but you can expect a rub once lowered on 225 tyres.

I'm 99.9% going for a set of BBS CK in 18" - £852 is the best quote so far.

You only have to worry about quattro when you are running different width wheels aren't you? :readit:

What happened to 19"s Spin...:readit::ninja:

As much as I love the look of 19" the fact that I do several track days a year makes the prospect more expensive due to tyre costs (I'm obsessed with premium rubber), factor in the initial additional costs £1,600 versus £800 for 18" and it all makes sense. The plan is to swap the tyres over, sell the spacers and the original S3 alloys, I need the extra clearance afforded from the CK's for the AP brake set up that goes on Tuesday am, I can then sell the oem brakes and spacers.

Once the wife has gone back to work after maternity I'll get a set of 19 anyway and keep the 18 for track stuff.

You have to have a plan :)

Sounds good to me my friend, any luck with offloadin the 8 pots?

Yes N8, the specialist who was fitting them for me had a customer who saw them in his workshop and lusted after them so he picks them up next week for his B5 RS4.
I have made a small profit so this can go towards the cost of the AP Racing 6 Pot set up, tbh the RS$ kit was always going to look better but even at 6 pot v 8 pot the AP will provide far better performance plus be lighter and easier to maintain, the pads on the AP just slot in after removing 2 bolts with th calipers in place. Car should be ready to collect Tuesday pm so will post a review the following weekend and some pics when it stops raining :)

a few pics of mine with CK's 225/35/19 8J ET44 running H&R springs, i do get slight catching when loaded

I did consider 215's last week when i fitted 4 new tyres but there are not many tyres makers who do a 215/35/19, I know Falken do but i dont think goodyear do.

I did tell you that! 215s are :

Pirelli P Zero Nero, Toyo PX4, Falken 452, Nankang, Federal, Khumo, Hankook, not a great deal of choice...

how would a 19' 8.5j et 44 with maybe some 225 35 19's sit on an 3door with either some 40mm springs or coilovers.

not sure if they will catch much i can see them scrubbing abit. its the tyres and unsure on what to get

Yeah I think they would be ok. Would be tight with 235's though so make sure you get 225's

My 19" CH's have 235 tyres on them and they are perfect

Is your car lowered? What suspension are you running?

I'm after some coilovers but don't want any rubbing!! My A3 currently has 235/35/19 with a 45 offset wheel

I am about to buy the CKs 18" - ET44. Knowing a CK in 19" 225/35/19 rubs, a 18" CK with 225/40/18 will probably have the same problem?
