So, this morning i was on my way to work to sort out an emergency with our work servers (Work in IT). I Had the whole day planned out and it was vital i turned up.
Then all of a sudden.... I was in a 60, doing 60 and an elder woman pulled out on me. I have no idea how she didn't see me. The road is straight for about 2 miles and you can see all the way down it. There was no rush the roads were empty, she just wasn't paying attention.
I was so close to her when she pulled out and she was going very slow. I had 2 choices and i chose to 'Undertake' her on the curb over smashing in to her with a 50mph difference. I missed her car by millimeters, i even braced myself for the impact and to my surprise, it didn't come. I went up on to the curb on my side of the road and shattered my front wheel and tyre. By this point i was heavy on the brakes and because of the front wheel i broke traction and came off the curb, now in front of this lady. I was now sideways and i just couldn't regain control. I fought with the car for what felt like years and when i finally go traction and had lost most of my speed, i was facing the right way, on the wrong side of the road. I was still sliding at this point and slammed into the curb dead side on, on the wrong side of the road. I hit the curb so hard it actually broke the curb. I ended up on the curb by the time i had come to a complete stop. I shattered both drivers side wheels and tyres as well. Wish bone is bent and hub assembly is cracked.
Luckily i wasn't far from my local Audi garage so after swapping details with this elderly lady i go the car to the Garage. The lady has admitted it was her fault and was very apologetic. Even said my driving was like something out of a movie and she was very impressed i managed to miss her. It was miraculous. She said all the damage will go through her and her insurance. Bless her.
Audi said i cant take the car home because it is dangerous to drive. They very actually brilliant and i am so impressed with them. I haven't been impressed before. I think they realise what it must be like to crash your Audi and they did everything they could for me and didn't even charge me for the assessment. They are going to phone me on Monday with an exact price but they reckon about £2000.
I'm glad i'm ok. I'm glad the lady is ok. & I'm glad my car is repairable, but I'm still heartbroken.
However it does mean i have to get the train into work tomorrow on a SUNDAY. This is the worst weekend ever. Can't even go to my Halloween party tonight and dress up like a ghost
