So. Something happened this weekend. I have no clue. I'll make no apologies about it. I'm a converter. I have simply started warming heavily to this new B9.
Whether it was my S4 just sounding that little bit more fruity this weekend or just how 'on it' it felt, I really started to enjoy and love the punch of the V6. The B9 RS4 looks won me over on launch. You all know that. But, yeah...haven't got a clue. Just think I'm gonna get one down the line. So, where does that leave the B8? I just feel, as a daily driver, I'd couldn't access the full potential up at 7-8.5k rpm. Not every day. And frankly, the only reason I want the B8 is for its timeless looks and NA 4.2.
So, will I own one? Yes. But I think I'm just gonna wait and then actually 'own' one. Find a low mileage well cared for example and keep it as a classic. In 15-20 years time, it's going to be an absolute icon and I can rev the nuts off it, on a weekend, not worrying about fuel and running costs. Experiment with a custom exhaust and truly enjoy it. Time to book a test drive haha.
@Robbe looks like I'm on the same upgrade plan as you now mate
Gonna wait 2-3 years, talk to dealer about putting something together that's more 'flexible' for me and look at the outgoing RS6 Performance. I'll be saving a tonne of cash in the Immediate with this decision and can put it towards a good spec one. Thrash that a few years, probably get the facelift B9.5 RS4 (could it be the last one?
) then maybe punch out with the C8 RS6 hybrid. Max power. Buy the ****** and keep it forever.
Anyhoo, in the meantime, I'm really enjoying my S4 and honestly look forward to the guys picking their new RS4s up and inundating us with sound and reviews!! Especially
