Hoping to pick up a 2020 RS4 soon. I need to change the number plates and wonder if anyone can help with how to do this. I am not very mechanically minded so any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Can’t you take them along and get the garage to change them over for you?

Unfortunately not Sandra. I will need to run the car for a week or so before I can legally transfer my reg to it and as I live some 300 miles from the garage its not practical to return it to get it changed. The garage has said its straightforward but I hoped someone on here might have some experience of changing the plates and any problems there might be.

Take the plate off (it just unscrews) and place it over the new plate. Drill the holes to match the old plate. Be careful not to crack the new plate. Then screw the new plate on using old screws. Repeat for other plate.

Thanks Terminator. Was not sure how they were attached but if they are screwed on it will be a simple job. I will see shortly

Got the car and the plates I have had made up come with self adhesive pads so once the V5 comes through I will try it with the pads. Prefer to avoid drilling if I can.
