b5 arm rest into b6 will it fit?

So before anyone says do a search I did and couldn't find a for sure answer some say no some say yes with some fettling

I got a leather armrest for free but it turns out it's from a b5 question is will it fit into my b6 without looking stupid? it didn't come with the bracket or plastic trim.

The mounting bracket will be different for sure.

The bracket that comes down from the armrest is in a more circular shape but from wwhat I've seen the bottom mounting bracket is the same I just want to know if the length is the same
