AVJ TO BFB ENGINE SWOP

My a4 1.8T requires a new engine (oil starvation/damaged cams)

Does anyone know if the AVJ is a straightforward exchange for my BFB.

I have also found a brand new head of ebay for £400 (AUDI S4 A4 A6 1.8i 20v + TURBO NEW OE CYLINDER HEAD COMPLETE 06b103063r | eBay) which seams to cross ref fit a bfb but could anyone confirm.

One last issue are the cranks the same on an auto avj / bfb engine as the manual, I have read conflicting info.

Input shaft? That's on the gear box.. Clutch may be different but you'd swap over from the original

As above, there's no difference between the engines, auto/CVT have a dual mass flywheel just like the manual gearboxes. You will have to swap your own clutch/DMF over to the new engine...
