Average lifespan of brake pads?

Just curious how long the original Audi brake pads usually last for on average.

My 2018 RS3 was serviced today and apparently the front pads are still only about 50% worn, these are the originals, so four years old. Car has done 25k miles.

I by no means drive the car "hard" and am quite "light" on the old brake pedal but I was definitely expecting to have had to replace the front pads by now, judging by what I have read and heard about how these cars eat their way through brakes!

Is it quite normal for them to last this long?
