Avant reversing light

As you avant owners know the reversing lights don't give out a lot if light. Over the weekend I fitted an led light under the bumper near the wheel well that improves reversing visibility however every 40 seconds while engine running it flashes briefly at a reduced voltage (8volts) is there any way to stop this from happening

Its the self check for failed bulbs.
As far as I know this cannot be turned off.

Just thought someone might have put resistor or capacitor in to stop pulse to led
