Audi symphony android auto

Hi, new member to the forums. I've been searching around and trying to figure out what would be the best way to add android auto compatibility to my Audi A4 which comes only with symphony audio system.

I've found few options - either installing an interface that reuses the existing mmi screen or installing a unit with its own screen.

I was wondering if anyone had used either of these or something similar? How well do they work? Also, particularly for the interface option - what's the image quality like on the factory screen?

I use an an RSNav standalone which uses the stock screen.

You might want to look at RSNav stuff which ISNT standalone.

Make sure you understand there are different versions of Android Auto - wired and wireless.

I had a RSNAV in my A4 which worked really well. That was the android unit which replaced the Audi screen. I now have the RSNav standalone android auto interface in my A5. Its a good bit of kit.

I'm not a big fan of Aliexpress as the quality of product are sometimes very questionable.
