Hi guys and girls and happy new year to all of you ;)

Now lets get to little problems that i have with my Audi S6 2007 sedan.

    1) i have problem with rear window deffoger, i turn it on and after 1 minute every time it automaticly turn itself off and wires on glass are not warm at all.

finally i manage today to remove c pillar and inspect glass nad wiring.

this is driver and passengeer side connectors and i dont know if they are looking normal or terrible (i didnt see good wires to know)
    https://ibb.co/7CRdqK1
    https://ibb.co/ngbmV6B
    https://ibb.co/PrkHyrv
    https://ibb.co/HTRxdvj

and apart from that i found unpluged green connector on this part 26. I plug it back and test heating on rear glass and nothing.

I try to test glass wires and connectors on each side with this mulltimeter (i am not electrician) i turn mulltimeter to each setting and try to test it but i dont get any reading wher i turn on deffroster and when i switch it off.

I even try to turn multimeter on down right setting which test continuity and it only keeps beeping.

I tested fuse allso and fuse and relay and all is good, relay clicks normaly. I will still go to audi and see to buy 373 relay just to test if it is maybe that that shuting off aftery some time. Thanks to @KrisKrk for advice and help.

i dont know what else i can do until i get my VCDS in saturday.

    2) DRL problems
first my S6 drls are different colors, driver side is white/blueish and passenger side is yellowish. is passenger side is bad/on the way to die or something else?

    3) and last one is my engine oli sensor comes on and beeps 2 time in like 5 second and goes off and everthing is normal, but when i check my oil dipstick i dont see clear marks of oil on in. I addes half liter because i know from my previous 4.2 FSI that they consume some oil over time but still after that and heating engine little bit there is still not much on dipstick, and there is everything dry under car, and low oil sensor dosent light up (only sometimes for 5 sec and goes off)

    1) PM'd

    2) Are your DRL's led or halogen?
If halogen and easy bulb access, swap the bulbs around and see if problem follow. If it does, that will be your answer.
Same can be done with leds

    3) I didn't see any markers on the dipstick either and that to me means, there is not enough oil in the engine.
Although you will add half a litre or a litre, engines do take much more.
My 2.0 takes shy under 5 litres of oil so your motor might have still have some but not so much, so the dipstick can reach it.

Ideally you should top it up but if you overfill it is not good either.
Best solution would be to drop all that is in there and pour new one, with a new filter obvoiusly.
Old oil can be measured to tell you how much really was there.
    No harm in that

Hi guys, the car come home from mechanic, he said to me that for deffoger and drl i need to go and see that with car electrician.

So now for engine, he make full service all filters and oils, and he told me that car has very low oil in engine, and when he replace it and make full service when he turn on the car he can smell oil. So i ask him why is that, he explain to me that it can be 2 things, either bad valve gasket or cylinder gasket (he think that is cylinder gasket) and that if i want to repair it i need to drop engine from car or to buy used/new engine and replace it because he thinks that is not worth droping engine from car and repair gaskets because it is pricey job.

And yes i noticed even before service when is cold that white smoke i comming mostly from left exhaust tips when standing and it is not small amount. and yes ofc that it should be some smoke when is cold but when i am on traffic light nobody have that amount of smoke form exhaust.
(and my left tail pipe is more black inside and outside and right is not so much)

I looked a little bit online and i saw that used engines is 5k-10k € depend of miles and condition.

So is it even worht fixing it or replacing engine because i dont think that S6 C6 are worth that much.

    What is your opinions?

If anyone can help i would appreciate it a lot. I am clueless.
And engine sound like this it is loud kicking noise. Apart from that car drives normaly dosent lose power or something like that.
    Can it be carbon buildup?

Pull the plugs and see what the engine is doing, but if it's using/burning oil then there is not much you can do. S6's are not worth that much as one of the biggest issues is anything major on the engine requires it's removal and that costs big money. I would just keep running it until at some point it becomes worse or it fails any emissions test. I personally would not spend any money replacing or fixing the engine.

thanks for your opinion ;) so if it is using oil than there is nothing such as easily or normal fix, so engine should go out and then apply fix?

No easy fix that I know of. The state of the plugs would be the best indication of the health of the engine. As the V10 is an N/A engine it's not got any turbos so your not losing oil that way. So other than oil leak, head gasket failure (coolant mixing with the oil) the only other way is oil getting into the combustion chamber, either by valve oil seals or piston rings, both of which will be a four figure sum to repair as the engine has to be removed.

Okay, just registered here, so I might as well hit the ground running, right? :)

I'm not a big fan of the "run it till it breaks then throw it away" method, so here are my proverbial 2 cents...

    1) The connections/soldering looks corroded to me - is that just a trick of the light, as it were?

    2) Do you mean your xenon headlights? Or something else? Sounds to me like you have 2 different color temperatures in there... if your headlights start out the same color/color temperature, then one changes, then the one with changes is going out. If they just have different color all the time, then someone may have changed one bulb, and put in the wrong color temperature bulb (source: have that. I did that.)

    3) That dipstick is worrying. There are some things you can look for, however. "Rule of thumb" is that white smoke out the pipes is water (i.e. coolant). Black smoke is unburnt fuel. Blue smoke is the worst, because that is burning oil.

You said your smoke is white. My C6 also has some white "smoke", but it usually clears up pretty quick, and no coolant is disappearing. So, it's just condensation. If your white smoke doesn't dissipate, check your coolant levels as well. I'm not very familiar with the audi V-engines yet, but getting there. I'm assuming you have cam sensors, however. Those will leak pretty liberally if they've been in and out a few times. Check, pull, replace o-rings if you can get to them.

Your mech said he could smell oil. As in smell oil, or smell burning oil? If it's just an oil smell, then you've a leak somewhere. Or more. Valley somewhere, maybe, running somewhere and disappearing somewhere you haven't checked? If it's a smell of burning oil, you should have blue smoke, but like B5NUT says, pull the plugs and see how they look. It should tell you if you're burning or leaking, at least. See if there's oil in the plug holes as well. That'll also be a clue.

    1) i dont know but it start working by itself.

    2) not xenons but drls. where fox light shoud be there is drl lights on S6

    3) It was white smoke but there is no coolant missing.

thanks i will check when this all with covid-19 comes to end.

Okay, so you basically use the fog lights as DRLs? In that case, the bulb's going out. :)
Don't know what you mean, man. I've got almost nothing to do here but focus on the car, because of Covid. :p :)

yea i agree but i dont have all tools or garage to do something big so i need to do it on street (couse living in apartment without garage) and wheather needs to be good not raining or cold :p

it is not fog light it is oem S6 drls let me post picture here. This is best what i can find. dont bother with xenon because headlight lens are **** and passenger bulb is also ****, i would replace it with EvoX-R 2.0 projectors and Osram CBI 6000k d2s bulbs but focus on lover oem led DRL-s

So guys there is some news today.

Car dosent dring oil anymore it was 2 or 3 gasket i cant remember now, mechanic replaced it and it works fine no more codes and car was perfect for 1 month.

So tomorow my car start to throw EPC and traction control light and was idle like crazy jumping from 600 rpm to 1000 rpm. I put my VCDS and now from 0 codes few weeks ago to **** ton of codes pop up as you can see down bellow. Even codes for driver and rear passenger door actuator poped and i replace them 2 weeks ago and they working fine even now when codes pops.

I guess that good amount of codes is because bead intake manifold flaps, and probably spark plugs because they wasnt replace in 100.000 km!

yes ofc. it is a big list i dont know why it is almost everything triggering like error.

here is link with full scan.

only one code is ok for me and that is parking senzo, front one is not working so i know for that.

That's a tough one, I would start by checking the wiring harness around the engine bay. Something could have bee damaged or not connected correctly while the gaskets were replaced.

every wire is good except the one going to throttle body, there is one wire from bundle that is exposed. i will fix it.

i spoke to mechanic and he told me that he thinks there is no point in removing engine, he will change spark plug (not changed in 130k km and more than 10 years), he will remove plastic flaps from intake manifold, clean it from carbon buildup, change trany oil and filter remove all codes and scan again and then see if something pop again. Also he will change some susspension arms, and front brake pads. Also he will try to see with special mechanics can they inspect and repair HPFP because i notice one/two drops of fuel there, it is nothink major but when i shut car off and try to tunr it on in 15-20 minutes it is strugling a little bit and mechanics tell me that HPFP is problem.

All that without o2 sensors will be about 1000 € maybe a little bit more.

But still there is one problem about O2 senzors on B1 S1 and B2 S1. So is there any way or possibility to change it ons S6 without removing engine???
