Me and my buddy went to York raceway yesterday met some great folk. Everyone was really nice and pointed me in the right direction. Ive never been to a strip before but was a lot of fun. Even met the VW T5 guy with the rs4 v8 in it. Really nice fella.
First run i totally ****** it i couldnt get it to launch and i ran it in drive mode. What a clown. So i didnt even count that one. But still ran a 12 dead at 115 mph with a late set off as i think id already triggered the lights.

Second go i launched it and got wheel spin well into second.

11.85 a 114.5mph

I had a 3rd of a tank of 99ron in

I reckon with more practice and messing with tyre pressures ill get 11.6-11.7

Someone suggested putting suspension in comfort.

Revo tune is a beast.

Ill post the go pro and camera footage as soon as.

In car video from the GO Pro. Note my awesome furious button bashing because LC wouldn't activate. Golf R stage 1 APR ran a 12.5. By the end of the track i was pretty much behind him.

that doesn't work every time for me. its just hit and miss. it was like this when i got the car

Didn't think that box had the LC system "in" it. Thought it was the preserve of stronic / DSG

Does the car need to be in dynamic mode? I just had mine in auto, switch off stop/start, ESP off, gearbox in S mode, left foot brake, right foot hard on accelerator, and the revs will hold as the boost winds up, let the brake go, and hang on! First couple of gears is really impressive, pushing you right into the seat, then it's just normal BiTdi acceleration from there onwards... Can't decide if manual or auto shifts is the quicker option? As mine isn't running standard power, it doesn't shift on the red line.

I think it states it in the manual you have to be in dynamic mode??

I'll give it a try sometime, surely it can't launch better than what I did the other night! lol :racer:

I did it on a private road, no time! lol But I plan to do the 1/4 miles at GTI Inters. 0-60 is suppose to be 4.8s using launch control on mine, with the tuning box at it's maximum setting.

Bitdi don't have launch control. It's only on the s-tronic gearboxes.

That would explain why I didn't get the explanation mark on the dash after pressing the traction control button for 5 secs! It has a version of it though. If you left foot brake and stomp on the throttle, it revs to 3k? And holds it there until you release the brake. It's definitely much quicker than full throttle from a standstill start.

Not really, the 3k max is the same in neutral - on an S-Tronic when you have LC enabled there is no creep till you bring up the brake, on the BiTDI you can still feel it pushing - that's why it feels faster. Not sure it'd be particulary good for it!
