Haha We will all have to get used to that in future, all driving milk floats with twin turbo speakers
I used the Carista app to turn off all the fake noise in my TCR, best mod I’ve done as you can actually hear the real noise of the exhaust now which is pretty good for a factory fitted system.
First review I’ve seen of the new R https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/volkswagen/golf-r/first-drives/volkswagen-golf-r-2021-review
Needs fact checking though 20” Not even on the parts database for the 2022 Golf. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
New edition of Car Magazine has a good review of the Golf R. Sounds like a great car combined with terrible tech
I am planning to replace my MY17 S3 saloon this year. I am disappointed with what people are saying about the new interior but I have not seen in in the flesh yet. I may look at the Vorspung edition but I am also going to look at the S4 ( I know it's a diesel), the interior will be a big step up from the S3 and has not suffered from cost cutting. I need to test drive the new S3 to see if I can detect any improvement.
Coming back to this thread. The price point they've put the Golf R at even with some discount you can get a nearly new A45s for. The interior on the A45S is leagues ahead so surely people won't be ordering these Golf rs unless they are getting 15% discount ? Once they are in dealerships are available for test drives I'll be going for one. Let's see if they are worth anything near what VW are charging. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
It does seam bizarre that the Golf R is now more expensive that the S3. And annoyingly, come with slightly more power. However, while I think the new S3 is over styled, the new Golf R is just a bit too bland. And I dislike the new A3 dashboard and materials. I absolutely hate the new Golf interior. At least the Audi have some dials and buttons. For me, even if the Golf was cheaper and discounts were better, I still wouldn't have one over the new S3.
This is what I mean and the A45s is a superior car in all aspects !! I'll be intrested to see how many people order well optioned Golf Rs as I just don't think they are worth the price tag at all and I've had my fair share of fast Golfs including a MK5 GTI & MK7 R, so I like a performance VW. I just asked my wife if she would like a new GTI to replace her Q3........ She said she has never liked Golf's ....... She much prefers the new Leon FR in Desire Red.
It’s worth noting that, based on test drives of the new Golf and the new A3, the Golf dash is less intuitive (for me at least).
I haven't been in either yet. It was based purely on looks in the magazine reviews. To be fair I wouldn't mind either Golf gti or A3 S3. Will have to wait and see what's available when I decide to get rid of the Cupra which won't be for a long while yet I'm enjoying it far too much.
Externally the Golf GTI variants are more European and aggressive looking than the S3 especially the front and rear....love the led band across the front bumper plus Matrix headlights are standard The rear led tail lights on the new 8y when illuminated look too small in comparison to the size of the rear If l where in the market for a hatch the golf would be the one
Last I heard the TT had been discontinued. Has that changed then? ETA: Looks like a 'run out' edition?
The mk3 TT has been around for about 6 years. It still seems to sell ok so Audi will milk it for a bit longer for sure. Far nicer trim and finish than the new 8Y A3 and Q3 imho.
Production is ending sadly but given whats on offer ie discounts available on it I'd say its a bargain compared to the current 8Y/Golf 8 garbage TT= Real Audi build quality!!! think there's only one current member on this forum who's ordered the 8y S3 .....to date... how times have changed, in days gone by when the 8v was introduced this forum was hyper with guys ordering....same with the FL 8v Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
Agreed .... the TTS is a stunning car and with 320 bhp it will be fantastic. Such a shame they are dropping the TT.
hows the trim on the super sports seats looking ? Been looking at a tts for a while but majority of the super sports seats are ripped exposing part of the airbag in the 2015-2017 models i think it might be fixed from end of 2017 onwards
