Audi S3 cold air intake.... ?

Hey Mate,

Looks like I'm too late here but was going to suggest the BMC CAI

I had this on my previous S3 which gave me around 10hp and recently on the GTi which gave me 6hp and better top end.

Not a huge gain power wise but definite improvement in throttle response torque and best of all Sound :) the sound of the turbo spool is amplified and on full throttle it sounds like a DTM Tourer - I Highly recommend it

I had a CDA on my ex car and it was great, but from the pictures i see that the CDA is mounted before the engine cover (which includes the stock airbox) so the restriction is still there.

You will see better results if you replace the engine cover with some pipes.

I got a replacement filter with the Intake also, but I have not fitted it yet. Can anyone advise if it's any good?

i replaced the original air filter at 2000km with one from Green Filters
and now i have 7000km and i ordered the CAI from BMC and i'm waiting for it
and after :whip:

and i think, that i will make, an complete CAI, like in this photo
this intake is from forge but i will make it whit the CDA ;)

Will any of these induction kits / air filters invalidate the warranty?

Today I ordered up the parts to make my custom intake for my S3.. Should have it all done in about a weeks time and ill post pics when its done..

90 degree reducing elbow - turbo to intake pipe
Revotec 25mm self sealing hose fitting - for dv recirc pipe
Modified neuspeed intake pipe (with MAF bracket) - Sprayed body colour
1m length of flexi hose - for dv recirc
hose clamps and fittings

At the moment I think ill be the first/one of to make an intake for the s3, nothing off the shelf available at the moment..

But you would never get away with replacing the engine cover with pipes and keeping the warranty safe, would you?
