Hi everyone just looking for advice. I have a 58 plate audi s3 8p and I don't know if it needs a cam belt change. I don't know if it even has one my car has done 90k miles is it chain or belt?

Both.
Cambelt needs doing every 5 years regardless of mileage. Or 70k miles to be safe.
Timing chain should ast life of car, but early models have been know to stretch and in some cases snap.

I would get it booked in for a cambelt change and water pump ASAP. Also consider a fuel filter too as they don't have an interval for change, but should be done as filters are designed to catch rubbish and will clog.

Audi do recommend 5yrs or 115000 miles whatever comes first so as member above says if you have no way off knowing it has been changed best book it in i have just had to sort this problem out too yesterday

Oh right OK so it's chain and belt and I should just book it in for belt and water pump change and I'm looking at roughly £600 from audi I understand?

I took mine to a VAG specialist and had belt and pump changed for £398 all in.

You don't need to go to Audi to have them do it , but good advice is too see how much they charge for the parts plus check TPS ( sell genuine audi parts cheaper ) only due to the warranty being for 2years as usually znywhere else is 1 yr
