Audi Rns Security Code,

Hi guys,

Ive been looking for a gloss black RNS for a while and found 1 15 miles away from me, its still in the car but will be taken out if or when i get there but they dont have the security code is this a big problem?

Audi dealers will sort it for you - around £30 IIRC

Ye, and do i need anything to prove where i got it from etc, just dont want them thinking i have gone and stolen it haha.

If i just install it in the car and go to audi all will be ok???

Depends on your local dealership.

I'm sure if you say you have bought it from a friend as he's selling his car or something you will be just fine.

How much are you buying the RNS-E for out of interest? I'm currently selling mine you see.

Is it the DVD RNS-E you are getting? The one with the gloss back frame?

Charlie, I always thought that the RNS-E code was tied to the VIN number of the car it was initially installed in. When you go to the dealer, he may ask you for the VIN number. Just a thought. Good Luck.

The best way - ask the seller to take his car, with the unit still in it, to Audi and they'll retrieve the code no questions asked. They may or may not charge.
