Q2 Audi Q2 - USB AUX Wireless Charging installation help

Hi

I just got my new Audi Q2 2017, 1.4TFSI, Design pack, with the standard Analog Cockpit and Multimedia screen. The hand rest box in the middle, I only have an AUX jack without any USB ports.

I'm looking forward to installing (retrofit) the
Couple Antenna Ablage USB AUX Wireless Charging 81A03502.(part link on ebay)

The question is, do I need any additional parts or to code it with VAG in order to get it working, or its just plug and play?

Ideally you'd need to strip the existing unit out to check if it has a loose connector there, generally Audi don't add them, but they do change there minds often, bare minimum you'd need to fit the wiring.

I would be careful, my Q2 wireless
Charging box with usb connectors looks nothing like the one in the link you provided. The one in the link is much bigger meaning that you won’t fit it in the Q2 tunnel, trim or get the arm rest to go down. Just don’t go fitting anything and don’t rely on eBay to get you the correct part because people will put anything in the title just to sell a product. You need to look for the A3 8V one which is similar, not sure if it is the correct one though.

As a side note, if your Q2 is new, have you checked your ok to do this? I mean warranty wise?

Edit: mine is like this, I know it doesn’t have any plugs present but you can see the set up is different to the one in the link you provided. It is also way smaller in size as it doesn’t have the side row of plugs.

No problem. I’m not sure on that part and not sure if it’s the same as my Q2. I’m away for a few days so can’t check. You should get on the Q2 forum. Google it and it will come up. Ask the question there. This part of this forum doesn’t get much activity but you will get more answers and advice on the official owners club site.

Good luck. Here is the forum link. it’s not the most vibrant place, you might be best off asking questions in the A3 8v section of this forum as the Q2 shares a lot of parts with the A3.
