Is it just me or are audi not doing many PCP deals at the moment? I am torn between the M140 and the S3 but I can't seem to find an Audi deal anything like a BMW deal at the moment!

M140 deals are ridiculous. Particularly from TRL on babyBMW.

Cheapest is the S3 Hatch, but you'll be lucky to get it before the year end...!

Yeah I know, and to be fair I can't find a deal from Audi to even begin touching BMW's let alone his deals

I managed 14% discount on a S3 hatch which equates to £2,500 down and £366 per month over 36m, 5k miles a year.

Probably better off looking at lease deals, but I like a few options and don't like being tied into a lease deal...

M140i is a great all round package...problem is I can't stand the look of it so it's a no go from the start.

Nearly bought a M240i though....lovely looking car.

M140 is a great car, however I don't want to discount an S3 but a sport back one I don't like the hatch.

Noticed the same over the past couple of weeks. Really aggressive deals on the M140i but it is aimed at a very specialised part of the market and perhaps they have overestimated demand.

Cheshire Oaks Audi have stepped up to the plate, amazing deals via cost to coast website. Will be looking to place an order in the next week or so. July build though!!

@ollie2013uk what kind of deal you get, if you don't mind me asking.
Saw the M140 deals last month, neighbour was going to jump on it but he's now holding out for an S3. Deposit contributions are Mental from BMW at the moment. I like the 1 Series, wife had one before she got into Mini's. A lot smaller inside than the A3/S3 and build quality from BM at the moment leaves a lot to be desired.

4k deposit, 48 months, 10k pa Tech Adv pack, privacy glass, rear parking sensors, rear camera. £369 per month

I've always gone for finance with non dealer companies.

ie Oracle Finance did me a quote for our S3, (15 plate) and for same money down they £35pm cheaper because of Apr

It's a second hand car we are buying.

Call Oracle and ask for Oliver Clarkson he should be able to help you out.

How does the GFV compare to Audi?

Thanks mate, but this is a brand new one, If I was buying 2nd hand i'd never accept the dealer's APR rates. To be honest i'd thoroughly recommend Cheshire Oaks Audi, top service and good prices.

Most will offer a lower rate. Around 8%. Still ridiculous when you compare it to a bank loan at 3% though...

Quote from Audi was actually on a year older car. But if I remember right the APR from audi was 10.8%. Oracle is 7.1%

OK, would be good to know how the GFV compares directly on the same used car.

My experience has been that the GFV is much lower from other dealers or brokers.

Any offset in APR (8% vs 7% in your case) is negated by the fact the GFV is much lower, so the amount you pay capital back on is anywhere up to £2k higher.

I guess this doesn't actually matter since you will just have higher equity at the end, and in fact the interest overall will be slightly lower with a lower GFV, but obviously it impacts on monthly payments.

I still struggle to see why you wouldn't just get a personal bank loan for the amount at 3% over 5yrs, and then if you sell the car after 3yrs, just pay the loan off early. Even with an early repayment charge, you are thousands better off?

Is it not the fact that a bank loan of say 25-30k is alot harder to get as it's unsecured?

Not going to disagree, but we had a target to get monthly payments under a certain number. That wouldn't happen with a bank loan.

The situation with my work over the past couple of years has been pretty scattered so banks are not so keen on me hahaha.

Not sure i'd want my credit tied up in 1 place on a new car, well I haven't I took Audi's credit

other thing to notice on new Audi's is the model specific deposit contributions, i was going to buy a 2nd hand A6 at around £22-£25k, PCP APR on used is about 16%!

new Audi, £40k, deposit contribution £6k, negotiated discount from dealer £4k, new car for £32k @ 8%

over 4 years the difference is negligible when you take into account the difference in future values - plus i got a better car and full 3 year warranty

if Audi carry on giving so much contribution on the A6 it will be hard to justify any other car!

Audi have bumped up the APR rate on the A6 and dropped the deposit contribution a little, think we got lucky when we gout our cars.

Have been looking around at Q3 for a friend and the deposit contribution & APR is rubbish compared to the A6, not found any good deals on the Q3.

Cheaper to get an a6 than an a5 sport back with same spec! Unfortunately with ved changes my next car will have to be sub £40k

Question. Who here would buy a car they didn't really want but is available on a better finance deal than the car they'd prefer?

It's not a trick question; I'm genuinely curious about what drives peoples' decisions (pun intended). :)

Not if you'd have to live with it for 3-4 years! I change my cars ALOT! So for me to PCP a car is a big commitment so i'd happily wait for the one I wanted. Hence why I am waiting until May!
