The Audi e-tron GT quattro has been named the “World Performance Car” at this year’s World Car Awards. More than 100 journalists from around the world tested and voted on the cars that qualified for this award, which was announced in New York City today. Audi CEO Bram Schot said, "Audi is proud to receive recognition with our first battery electric vehicle as a true performance car." The winning model will go into production next year and is expected to cost around $120,000 USD.

The Audi e-tron GT was up against stiff competition in its category with other nominees including Jaguar's I-Pace, Mercedes' S 500 EV, Porsche's Taycan Turbo, Toyota's Supra 2020 Concept (in prototype form), and Tesla Model 3 Performance.

This prestigious award is a testament to the exceptional performance of this all-electric grand tourer. What sets the Audi e-tron GT quattro apart from other electric vehicles is its sophisticated thermal management system. That system consists of four thermal circuits, which ensures that the battery and components of the drive system each stay at their ideal temperature. This results in performance characteristics that can be reproduced at any time. Thanks to its intelligent thermal management, the Audi e-tron GT quattro
