    Hello All,

This will be the third year I've had my Audi a4 B8 2010 it’s a brilliant car and all however I've recently had the following issues:-

    FLOODING!

    • The rear passenger foot well has all of a sudden started to intake water.
    • I had the service done twelve months ago so I would have thought Audi would have cleaned the water drains. (I'm unsure where the drains are accessed from so im unable to check)

    Climate Control

    • The internal heater blower had been intermittent for three months; it has now stopped working all together. This is very irritating when you can't demist the condensed water on the windscreen.

Any diagnosis would be muchly appreciated, if you need any further information I hope I can help. Thanks you all for taking the time to have a look at this post.

Check the scuttle at the back of the engine. Leaves get in and block the drain holes. The water can build up and come through the heating pipe holes. So might there might be a connection with the heater issue? I have heard of a rubber seal issue on the doors or windows. Hopefully someone might know more about it.

Are you running the AC? I believe there is an evaporation hose from the AC which can get blocked and this might also explain the faulty climate control.
On the A6 it was common for the rear washer pipe to come loose and you would get water in the footwell.

I have been running the AC, how would I go about inspecting if the evaporation hose has been blocked? Also where is the heater blower situated in the B8?

I've cleaned the scuttle out there did seem to be some leaves. Hopefully not too many have fallen through the drain holes.

I think the hose runs behind the glove box then under the carpet but I haven't ever had to check this on our car. It doesn't matter if the leaves have fallen through the holes, it's only when they block and the chamber fills up. Had this on my C5 and C6 and pulled the rubber bungs on them eventually. There's no mistaking it as mine were about 3 inches deep in disgusting water!

Front passenger footwell often indicates flooding from the plenum chamber.

Rear footwell I would be examining the outer rubber door seal carefully. Took me ages to find this leak on a vw polo, my parents had exactly the same thing on a passat. Basically water drips from the top of the door onto the side of the seat, the water travels through the inside of the seat and drips out through the bottom onto the rear footwell.

Try feeling around the bottom of the seat and see if it looks wet. Also try putting a rubber mat in the offending area. If water starts pooling on it you know its coming from the top. But if its still getting wet underneath you know its traveling there from elsewhere. Good luck, water leaks are a PITA to find but fortunately there are good leads to the 'common culprits' online.

I've just taken the car to Audi for its service and they've told me the following : -

£59 quid to change the brake fluid and the following information later.....

    Climate Control
The blower has been working however its only blowing on its lowest setting. This is down to the blower controller receiving a low resistance or something. Would anyone happen to know where i could find a climate control wiring schematic?

    Leak into the Footwell
The leak into the footwell has not been diagnosed they wanted £95 just to have a look and parts would be an additional cost.

I had a very similar problem with the heater blower in my passat turned out the be the resistor overheating and blowing with caused the blower to only work on the highest setting. The bearings in the blower motor were past it and in the end I had to replace the motor which cost around 80 quid. Was good as new after that.
