Audi a6 brakes dragging

Hi my friend has an 05 plate 2.7 tdi he has been having issues with both his rear brakes dragging and causing his wheels to get very hot he has had the car looked at with no faults found wheels spinning freely assuming this rules out basic brake issues could the electronic park brake cause these issues if not releasing correctly the car was scanned with no related codes however I am yet to scan it with my vcds any help would be appreciated

I had a very similar problem on my 3.0.
It came down to a seized caliper and since the electric parking brake was involved the cost for the replacement was £600 !!
Mine was accompanied by a throbbing noise as well as the wheel getting hot, so much so that when I took a technician out to hear the noise, the brakes failed with vapour lock !! Fortunately, not totally.
Partly to blame, I was told, was not using the brakes often enough !!

Hope you get it sorted more cheaply.
