audi a6 avant 2.8 quattro 1998

hi all,

Is there any way to tell if the front passenger airbag on my 1998 a6 avant 2.8 quattro is activated or deactivted ? , with out taking it to an audi dealer ?

Also is it possible to activate or deactivate oneself it without going to AUDI .............(post 1999 models have a facility to turn the passenger airbag on/off)

(want to put baby seat in front passenger seat)

hi i have got an a6 2.8 quattro avant on a t plate 99 i think the passenger airbag works on a seat occupied basis there is no facility to turn them off basically if no one is sat in the seat it will not activate on collision i would not chance a baby seat in the front as this will show as seat occupied

You can get the deactivation switch retrofitted onto cars without the switch but Its a trip to the delaer to get it done
