Audi A4 fan problem

hi all

I know this has been mentioned in previous topics. But the fan problem has happened to me. It comes on during cold starts and stays in throughout a journey. Temperatures all remain normal. Nothing out of place. No leakes. Am I right in saying temperature sensor?? Anyone else had this issue and resolved it ???

Have you had it mapped?

Same happened on my 1.9tdi after the first time it was mapped so it was unplugged, not sure if the fan is needed on the 1.8t but it is totally unnecessary on 1.9tdi's.

I have the same car model as you and had this problem. My temp gauge started playing up beforehand but the fan would come on sometimes when starting up. I changed the coolant temp sensor and it's been fine ever since.

There are two temp sensors, one is on the coolant flange and the other is on the radiator.
