I've never actually seen the roll bars at the rear engage! I found this link on a US site.......

The rear roll bars looks like they were asleep!

I reckon they would of just deployed in time if it had flipped.
 
i dont think they would do much really do you ?
 
I think they are there to help in the event of a roll - certainly to protect rear passengers

I think they only deploy as a result of a wheel leaving the ground which didn't happen in the crash test straight away making the bars look like they were slow to react.
 
I didn't even know cabbys had them!

They are bult into the black lid section - they are the two sections behind the headrests - pretty useful piece of kit.
