Hi all,

This might be a long shot but here we go.
I have problem starting my car when its cold outside, it does not matter how cold it its glow plugs light only comes on for one second. all 6 plugs was changed not so long ago... Compression is fine, fuel pump is fine as well. Is there anything else to try? maybe relay or something?

I have visually inspected all cables but all looks good. When the car is warmed up, there is no problem starting it, takes a second... But when its cold it does turnover maybe 5-8 sec before it starts.

I do not have vcds, but i have scanned it using Carista unfortunately i cant find any info on codes that i have.
( No warnings on dash, not mil light )

Engine :
04984 Manufacturer-specific code
04985 Manufacturer-specific code
04986 Manufacturer-specific code
04987 Manufacturer-specific code
05417 Manufacturer-specific code
05418 Manufacturer-specific code

Transmission :
02225

Battery seems to fine, holds charge at 100%, turns over easy.
Starter also replaced not so long ago.

I have noticed when removed 639 relay (Glow plug relay) all faults are gone. could it be that this relay is bad and needs replacing?

I know this an old post but was it the relay? I have the same problem and Carista codes.

Did anyone get results here, I have exactly the same issue and no google searchs are helping?

04984 - Cylinder 1 Glow Plug Circuit (Q10)
04986 - Cylinder 3 Glow Plug Circuit (Q12)

Looks like glow plugs, relay or wiring problems. The original posters replies would suggest relay issues.
