Scores taken with standard alternator and subs were stiff! Suspect this will break a 149-150db ;)

Now pictures to follow of the alternator install :)

had to trim the rear corner of the engine cover to make it fit and not chafe the cables

you can just about see the big 3 earth cable on the top bolt hole, can't get much better than bolted to the alts chassis me thinks

over 260 amps at 2krpm, 170ish on idle, not bad for a 210a unit :)

still drops to 13v but with upwards of 300a draw (500-600 max amps) its not doing bad and the diesel doesn't flinch

Bet it's pretty quiet
Nice install, why are the subs pointing up as opposed to facing in the car out of interest?

Not enough room, then you want back seats taking out and it's called a "Wall"

The subs can in theory face any direction as bass can travel any direction IIRC

I am glad to see the big 3 still being used.

Hi,

your subs look amazing and must sound very nice!

I am quite envious, coming from two ****** evo cbr 12's in my A3 to nothing in my A4 avant.

I was wondering, if i was to get something along those lines in my Audi A4 Avant, how much would a audio shop charge? Are we talking over £1,000?

Is there any easy ''Clip on'' ''Clip off'' system used so the subs can be removed within a minute rather than tirelessly unscrewing each wire one by one etc as this is a problem i had in the A3, and that only had 3 wires i think. Live, Ground and RC..plus the two RCA's or whatever they are called!

Sorry for thee lack of knowledge. I await your response! :)

to disconect the wires quickly, live and earth then i would recomend an anderson conector, its what the rac/aa have on there van that they use for jump starting other cars from so more than up to the job, as for the remote wire, a simple push on splade will do the job

anderson connector:

fair does thats an impresive install, you using it for sound offs / spl compertitions or just to annoy next door?
