Audi A4 2.5 tdi, engine noisy after cambelt change

Hi all new to this so please please help,
I have bought a audi a4 2.5 tdi s-line recently and it was due for a cambelt change so i have the cambelt changed and a full service but ive picked the car up from the garage and it soulds awfull, its like a tracktor this sound was neva there before anyway spoke to the garage and have been advised to change the cambelt hydrolic damper? Is this whats making the noise or is the garage trying to make money on me?

Did they use ocking tools or tipex marks ? I would take it sharplish to another garage that does know how the v6 tdi works ! Where abouts are you based ? I would not drive it as it wil drop a valve...

Thanks adam i know they did not use a tool not sure about tipex marks
also they said that i need a cambelt dumper, its driving me nuts
im from east london

Its also nw developed a new fault the engine keeps switching off
