Hi
I hope someone will be able to help with the problem with my car.
I have an audi a3 2 litre tdi. It has 170k miles on the clock.
For the last couple of months my car is misfiring very badly on idle and also gives smoke from the exhaust.
I have done diesel purge on the injectors but it hasnt fixed the problem.
I took my car to a local mechanic who after plugging a computer stated that the injector of the cylinder 1 is not functioning. I agreed for it to be replaced. After he replaced the injector he said that the engine is still misfiring and it is because there is a mechanical fault in the engine such as valve is stuck or compression in one cylinder is low.
He recommends i should get the whole engine replaced.
Could anyone please help me with the diagnosis. It is important to mention that i did ask the mechanic to check if the timing was fine and he confirmed that the timing/torsion value is fine. I have uploaded a video on youtube and the link of the video is copied below
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Regards
