Hey there,

I had a bit of a panic this morning with the fear of a possible gearbox issue.

I was at a red light and noticed that when it was time for me to move, the car didn't move forward when I released the brake and even rolled back a little. I had to apply power and it revved a little and then abruptly started to move forward. It's almost as if the car was in neutral when I was accelerating and had to catch the gear in order for it to move.

Normally when you release the brake, the car creeps forward and then I apply some throttle to accelerate the car.

This happened again at the next red light. To fix the problem, I had to pretty much park the car at the light, turn it off and then on again and the problem went away for the remainder of the trip.

The road that it happened on wasn't particularly steep but steep enough for a car to slowly roll back.

My car is a 2014 Audi A3 (MY15) Sedan 1.8 TFSI Quattro Automatic with the 6sp S Tronic gearbox. The car has done about 87,000 kms

I haven't driven the car again since it only happened this morning.

Anyone else experienced this or know anything about it?
