Audi a3 loss off power

Hi there my son has a 2007 audi a3 2.0 tdi 170bhp sline, he said that the car seems to have lost a lack of power and acceleration he said it seems flat just lack of power altogether, he also so said that the car seems to stall and also it seems to have a missfire every now and then.
We took the car for a smoke test to see if there was any leaks anywhere and there was nothing.
There has been no eml at all only battery light comes on when stalls

It is worth doing a diagnostic check with VCDS and start from there as the problem you described could be a lot of things:

Faulty sensor(s)
Faulty injector(s)
Clogged DPF
etc.
