So my Audi A3 8p 2009 rear passenger door would not open from outside and only opened from inside. I identified it was the actuator so replaced this yesterday. After changing this the door opened fine from outside however it now wouldn't lock along with the rest of the doors when I pressed the fob. I then mistakenly twisted the child lock position as I thought maybe this would fix the issue however I now can't open the door from either outside or inside. I was wondering if anyone could help with this as I took it to a few garages and was told the door panel needs to be removed from the outside to fix it which is likely going to be expensive. Thanks.
Sounds like you didn't reattach the handle rod, but child lock also means door card of & given its position as in locked shut, it's not going to be easy. Whereabouts are you located.
I actually just sorted it. I was struggling to remove the door card from inside the car because of the angle needed to pop the clips out. Thankfully I used my head and removed the speaker cover so was able to get my hand behind and remove the door card. It was just the power supply wire which was not fully clipped into place. Once I attached it properly it fixed the issue.
I have an 05 A4 and having the same problem. Rear door will not open inside or outside. I remember I changed the actuator two months before and the door was working fine but now I have this problem. Any other suggestions?
