Audi A3 2005 boot lock problems help

Ive just changed my rear wiper motorand boot lock in my Audi A3 2005...but its still showing on the dash the boot is open when its shut..and also the rear wiper motor doesnt work or water comes out..
However if i UNPLUG the connector to the boot lock the dash boot open light goes out and the rear wipers work perfect with water comingout....however....i CANNOT then open the boot with the key....ANY ADVICE ...gratefully recieved....

Not much help but my 2007 A3 sportback used to do a similar thing intermittently in the winter, where the boot open light would stay on (with the boot closed) and the boot would then ONLY open with the key fob, not the switch. Never got to solve it but Audi techy that serviced it was a common problem with relay PCB (under rear seat?) that transfers signals from ECU to rear of car and back getting wet or poor connections. I PXed it in the summer when working fine!
