Ive had my 2006 A4 2.7 TDI Avant on 139k miles for a few months now and it was last serviced by dealer 2 years ago @ 131K. Not sure what oil service it was on but seems like it was dealer serviced every 18~ months.

I do 5ooo mile a year mostly short runs.

Am planing to change the following,

Engine Oil 2x5 litres £45
Oil Filter £15
G13 Anti Freeze 3x1.5 litres £35
Air Filter £13
Pollen Filter £15
Fuel Filter £50

Total: £173
(local Audi specialist quoted £325 for major service)

All are Mann products from Eurocar parts

Questions,

Is Mann filters the brand to get ?
Any cheaper suppliers i should purchase from ?
Should i use the VW quantum oil ? if so, standard or longlife ?
I don't like getting under the car, Anyone recommend those 12 volts oil extractor pumps ?
Is there a bleed valve for the coolant ? if so where ?

Start, will ya!!!
Mann stuff is ok, always get the best parts you can afford
Wouldn't bother with any 'long life' stuff myself, ecp qx range is fine just keep to your regular service intervals, I always use an engine oil flush aswell
Don't know anything about the pumps dude,
I don't think there are any valves on the cooling system, I may be wrong, just set your heater to hottest setting and pour the coolant in slowly
Hope this helps

^ Wow .

Mann is VAG OEM .

LongLife oil is superior and Quantum Longlife III is the most popular and now made by Fuchs in the UK .

Don't use a flush .

And a vacuum pump is recommended , I've a Sealey TP69 .

I hope those ECP prices are subject to at least 30% off .

1. As Gaz mentioned above, MANN make oil filters for Audi, so they are basically OEM

2. Try CarParts4Less.co.uk, it is a website owned by EuroCarParts and they sell the exact same stuff, but as they are online only they tend to be cheaper. However sometimes EuroCarParts is cheaper with their discount codes they have at the top of their page, so check both and go for the cheaper option.

Actually, sometimes the EuroCarParts or CarParts4Less eBay shops are even cheaper than the website, even though it's all the same stuff from the exact same supplier.

3. VW Quantum (£22 on eBay) or Castrol EDGE (£33.50 from Opie Oils via their eBay page). Go for the Longlife oil, but change every year / 10,000 miles, whatever comes first.

4. Can't help there as I go under my car, but I believe the Sealey pump Gaz mentioned is good.

5. No bleed valve for the coolant. The OFFICIAL method to fill with coolant is to use a special tool (£70 from Amazon) with air compressor to pull a vacuum and fill the system without any air getting trapped.

If I were you I would pick up a Haynes manual from Halfords, well worth it!

Oh, and I agree with Gaz....DO NOT use a flush!!!

Last time I got service parts CP4L were cheaper.

Extrctor also allows black oil to be sucked out of the oil cooler .
